JacquelineJacqueline Fernandez, a model and actress from Sri Lanka, was born on August 11, 1985. In addition to appearing on reality television and music videos she has also appeared in Indian films most of them in Hindi. Her debut came with Hindi films in the year 2009 alongside Aladin. Fernandez was born in Bahrain to an ethnically diverse Eurasian couple with Sri Lankan, Canadian and Malaysian descent. She earned her degree in mass communications at the University of Sydney, and was a reporter for a television station in Sri Lanka. Then she began modeling. In 2006 she was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka and was a representative of Sri Lanka in Miss Universe 2006. Fernandez was the subject of an investigation related to the money laundering matter which involved Rs200 million in the month of December 2021. Fernandez was detained for 10 hours by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in connection with the case, on 9/12/2021. Fernandez's request to downgrade of the Lookout Circular, (LOC) that was issued in her case , which prohibits her from travelling outside of India was rejected by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the 22nd of December.
