Despacito from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi Luis Fonsi, who is a Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee became the song most streamed within less than six months. It was a blend of reggaeton and pop music that not only drew attention to Latin Music but also reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs mostly in Spanish by 2016 compared to just two songs in 2015. But during the peak of Despacito's fame in the year 2017 there were 19 mainly Spanish tracks that made the top 100. Then in 2020 there were 41. Justin Bieber's bilingual version of Despacito was released in the year. Then, numerous popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna was a part of Maluma in the creation of Medellin. In 2020, several Reggaeton performers were expressing displeasure about the direction of the genre toward the mainstream. But a newer generation like Rauw Alejandro was keen to keep the trend going. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music, as well as different genres.
